I had somebody come up to me today and ask how they could get the most out of their caffeine intake. She said that she keeps drinking coffee and is still tired so I decided to look this up a bit and found some:
1) Take it in small doses
One of the best ways to get the very most out of the caffeine you consume is to take it in small doses. So instead of gulping down a large coffee, you should be drinking regular cups of coffee every hour as a starting point. Drinking too much at one time will just go to waste, there is only so much caffeine your brain can handle at one time.
2) Figure out how much your body can handle.
Everybody is different. Some people can drink a small cup and be good for the rest of the day and some may have to drink multiple cups to feel the effect. If you do not know how much your body can handle then test it out. Experiment with different amounts of caffeine, consuming it at different times throughout the morning, and at different intervals
3) Use grapefruit, sugar and grass fed fat.
Study shows that if you eat a small piece of grapefruit while drinking your coffee it helps the caffeine stay in your system longer. Grapefruit has a compound called narangin that helps slow the clearance of
caffeine (and toxins) from your system.
Small doses of sugar, like a teaspoon in your coffee, can increase your performance. Your brain soaks up the sugar and uses it for fuel.
High nutrient density and cognitive boosting effects of grass-fed butter and MCT oil increase the absorption of caffeine. When you drink coffee mixed with a healthy fat you get a much stronger effect.
Use these steps to get the most out of your caffeine every morning. Leave us some comments on if any of these worked for you!
